Symptoms
Assume that you use Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Integration Services (SSIS 2012) or SQL Server 2014 Integration Services (SSIS 2014) in Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 or Visual Studio 2012. You try to create an XML source to fetch data from the following URL:
http://www.treasury.gov/ofac/downloads/sdn.xmlAnd you use the following schema:
http://www.treasury.gov/resource-center/sanctions/SDN-List/Documents/sdn.xsdIn this situation, you may receive the following error messages:
[XML Source [8]] Error: The file "http://www.treasury.gov/ofac/downloads/sdn.xml" was not found. Please verify the file path and try again.
[XML Source [8]] Error: The XML Source was unable to read the XML data.
[SSIS.Pipeline] Error: XML Source failed the prepare phase and returned error code 0xC02090D0.
Resolution
The issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.
Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2014 /en-us/help/2999197
Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2012 SP2 /en-us/help/2983175
Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. Check out the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
