Use UPPER, LOWER, and PROPER to return capitalized text in a quoted text string or another cell. 

  • The syntax is =UPPER(text), where text is a cell or text string you want to change.=UPPER(A1) changes all lowercase text in A1 to UPPERCASE.=LOWER(A1) changes all UPPERCASE text in A1 to lowercase.=PROPER(A1) capitalizes the first letter of words in cell A1 to title or Proper Case

  • To capitalize an explicit text string, quote it in the formula like =UPPER("the end"), returning THE END. 

  • Alternatively, select Text on the Formulas tab, and choose UPPER, LOWER, or PROPER.
