Start using OneNote
The best way to learn OneNote 2013 is to start using it. Click File > New to create a notebook, and then choose where you want to save it. Add sections, and give each section a name.
Taking notes
Typing in OneNote is like working in Word. You simply type text on a page. Select text and format it using the Mini toolbar, change the font size, and make it bold. For even more features, use the ribbon. There’s no save button; OneNote automatically saves your changes.
Use tags
Add a tag (a question or a to-do, for example) to an item (such as text), and then review all of your tags on the Tags Summary pane.
Insert some things
See how OneNote helps you organize your notes, making them easier to find.
Sharing a notebook
When you’re ready to share your notebook, you’ll find the option in the Backstage. Decide whether others Can edit or Can view your notebook, and whether they need to sign in to access it.
