Select this check box to display relationship shapes in the model.

Crow's feet

Select this check box to replace the one-to-many graphical symbol with a Crow's Foot notation in the model, making the relationship connector use Information Engineering notation.

Cardinality

This option is available only if the Crow's Feet check box is cleared. Select this check box to display cardinality notation on relationship shapes.

Tip: To use UML cardinality notation, do the following:

  • On the General tab, click Relational.

  • Click the Relationship tab, clear the Crow's Feet check box, select the Cardinality check box, and then click OK.

Microsoft Office Visio displays the notation in this form: u:C, where "u" is the type of change (update or delete) and "C" is the type of action (No Action, Cascade, Set default, or Set NULL).

By default, the name generated using the Database Modeling Preferences dialog box is displayed. For example, Parent + Child + Suffix.

To change the default name, on the Database menu, click Options, click Modeling, click the Logical Misc tab, and then select an option in the FK Name Generation Option list.

Don't display name

Click to display no text on the relationship shapes' connecting lines.
