Whiteboard files are saved in either Azure or OneDrive for Business, depending on your account.

Files created by personal account users are saved in Azure. Files created by commercial account users are saved in OneDrive for Business, except in the following scenarios:

  • A company has requested that files remain on Azure storage.

  • A board was initiated on a Surface Hub or a Microsoft Teams Room device.

Note: If you are a commercial account user, please contact your company administrator if you have questions about where your Whiteboard files are stored.

Azure whiteboards can only be accessed from the board picker. OneDrive whiteboards can be accessed from the board picker and the Whiteboards folder in OneDrive.
