ISSUE

After updating to Version 16.109, users might encounter an issue where Word files are grayed out and unavailable to select in the file dialog when using the Compare Documents feature.

STATUS: WORKAROUND

The Word team is currently investigating the issue. 

WORKAROUND

To work around the issue, users can change the file option type from "Templates" in the file dialog. After the dialog is open, select Show Options:

Then choose All Files, or the desired file type next to Enable:
