You can move your files around in your own OneDrive, move files to another location, move files to another account, or use File Explorer to move your files to an external hard drive.
After you move items, who can access those files and how they do it may change. For example:
-
When you move files between shared folders, OneDrive removes existing permissions from the file (based on where you moved it from) and then adds permissions to match those of the folder where you moved the files to.
-
Moving an item from a shared folder to an unshared folder changes that item to private or not shared).
