To add a control, select the Developer tab, and choose a control in the Controls group.

To set or modify properties on an existing control, select the Developer tab and choose
Properties in the Controls group.

Using controls isn't possible in Word for the web. You can use controls in the desktop app.

To open it, at the top of the ribbon, select Editing > Open in Desktop App.
