This article applies to Microsoft Dynamics NAV for all countries and all language locales.
Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0:
-
You have a bin in which there is an item that uses different unit of measure (UoM).
-
There is a conversion between the two UoM.
-
You move the item from the bin to another bin.
-
A UoM conversion is necessary in the movement.
-
You run the warehouse movement function in the Movement Worksheets dialog box for the item.
In this scenario, the UoM conversion lines are created incorrectly in the warehouse movement suggestion.
Symptoms

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 service pack or the next Microsoft Dynamics NAV version that contains this hotfix.
Note In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be canceled if a Technical Support Professional for Microsoft Dynamics and related products determines that a specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question.Resolution

Code changes
Note Always test code fixes in a controlled environment before you apply the fixes to your production computers.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:-
Change the code in the CreateTempLine2 function in the Create Pick codeunit (7312) as follow:
Existing code 1...
IF QtytoPick > 0 THEN BEGIN QtytoPick := QtytoPick - ROUND( CalcPickQtyAssigned( //Delete the following line. LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,'',TempWhseItemTrkgLine) ...Replacement code 1
...
IF QtytoPick > 0 THEN BEGIN QtytoPick := QtytoPick - ROUND( CalcPickQtyAssigned( //Add the following line. LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,UnitofMeasureCode,'',TempWhseItemTrkgLine) ...Existing code 2
...
IF QtytoPick > 0 THEN BEGIN QtytoPick := QtytoPick - ROUND( CalcPickQtyAssigned( //Delete the following line. LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,'',TempWhseItemTrkgLine) ...Replacement code 2
...
IF QtytoPick > 0 THEN BEGIN QtytoPick := QtytoPick - ROUND( CalcPickQtyAssigned( //Add the following line. LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,UnitofMeasureCode,'',TempWhseItemTrkgLine) ...Existing code 3
...
QtyPerUnitofMeasure,0.00001); QtytoPickBase := QtytoPickBase - CalcPickQtyAssigned( //Delete the following line. LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,'',TempWhseItemTrkgLine); ...Replacement code 3
...
QtyPerUnitofMeasure,0.00001); QtytoPickBase := QtytoPickBase - CalcPickQtyAssigned( //Add the following line. LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,UnitofMeasureCode,'',TempWhseItemTrkgLine); ... -
Change the code in the InsertTmpActLnFromMovWkshLine function in the Create Pick codeunit (7312) as follow:
Existing code...
LocationCode,FromBinCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,WhseWkshLine."From Unit of Measure Code"); FromBinContent.CALCFIELDS(Quantity,"Pick Qty.","Neg. Adjmt. Qty."); PickQtyAssigned := ROUND( CalcPickQtyAssigned( //Delete the following line. LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,WhseWkshLine."From Bin Code",TempWhseItemTrkgLine) ...Replacement code
...
LocationCode,FromBinCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,WhseWkshLine."From Unit of Measure Code"); FromBinContent.CALCFIELDS(Quantity,"Pick Qty.","Neg. Adjmt. Qty."); PickQtyAssigned := ROUND( CalcPickQtyAssigned( //Add the following lines. LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode, WhseWkshLine."From Unit of Measure Code", WhseWkshLine."From Bin Code",TempWhseItemTrkgLine) //End of the lines. ... -
Change the code in the FindBWPickBin function in the Create Pick codeunit (7312) as follow:
Existing code...
IF QtyToPickBase > 0 THEN BEGIN QtyToPickBase := QtyToPickBase - ROUND( CalcPickQtyAssigned( //Delete the following line. LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,"Bin Code",TempWhseItemTrkgLine) ...Replacement code
...
IF QtyToPickBase > 0 THEN BEGIN QtyToPickBase := QtyToPickBase - ROUND( CalcPickQtyAssigned( //Add the following lines. LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,"Bin Code","Unit of Measure Code", TempWhseItemTrkgLine) //End of the lines. ... -
Add a new local variable in the CalcPickQtyAssigned function in the Create Pick codeunit (7312), and specify the variable as follows:
-
Name: UOMCode@1004
-
DataType: Code
-
Length: 10
-
-
Change the code in the CalcPickQtyAssigned function in the Create Pick codeunit (7312) to the following:
...
END ELSE BEGIN SETRANGE("Action Type","Action Type"::" "); SETRANGE("Bin Code",''); END; SETRANGE("Variant Code",VariantCode); //Add the following lines. IF UOMCode <> '' THEN SETRANGE("Unit of Measure Code",UOMCode); //End of the lines. ... -
Change the code in the CalcTotalAvailQtyToPick function in the Create Pick codeunit (7312) as follow:
Existing code...
QtyAssignedPick := //Delete the following line. CalcPickQtyAssigned(LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,'',TempWhseItemTrkgLine2);Replacement code
...
QtyAssignedPick := //Add the following line. CalcPickQtyAssigned(LocationCode,ItemNo,VariantCode,'','',TempWhseItemTrkgLine2);
