SYMPTOMS

You click Item Categories or Item Lookup to select an item in Order Management for Business Portal in Microsoft Dynamics GP. In this situation, you receive one of the following error messages:

This order cannot be processed at this time.

No items to display.

Additionally, the following event may be logged in Event Viewer on the server that is running Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS):

Event Source: Order Management Event
Category: None
Event ID: 0
Date: 8/21/2006
Time: 3:14:32 PM
User: N/A
Computer: DHFS-SPA01

Description: The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( Order Management ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Item Category is empty.

System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8004D024): The transaction manager has disabled its support for remote/network transactions.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:

1.

Verify that network Distributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC) access is enabled on the server that is running IIS and on the server that is running Microsoft SQL Server. To do this, follow these steps on both servers:

a.

Click Start , click Control Panel , and then click Add or Remove Programs .

b.

Click Add/Remove Windows Components .

c.

Click Application Server , and then click Details .

d.

If the Enable network COM+ access and Enable network DTC access check boxes are selected, click Cancel , and then go to step 2. If these check boxes are not selected, continue with steps e through g.

e.

Click to select the Enable network COM+ access and Enable network DTC access check boxes, and then click OK .

f.

Click Next .

g.

When the components are finished being installed, click Finish .

2.

Verify that the DTC service is started on the server that is running IIS and on the server that is running SQL Server. To do this, follow these steps on both servers:

a.

Click Start , point to Administrative Tools , and then click Services .

b.

In the Name list, click Distributed Transaction Coordinator .

c.

If the service has a status of Started , close the window. If the service does not have a status of Started , go to step d.

d.

Right-click Distributed Transaction Coordinator , and then click Start .
