Symptoms

Assume that you send a file that uses a specific file name, and the file name uses AS2 messages as a part of the MIME header in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010, BizTalk Server 2013 R2, or BizTalk Server 2013. There are two options for transmitting file name in the MIME header during agreement settings:

  • Option 1: Specify file name as "FILE.ReceivedFileName"

  • Option 2: Have system generate file name

When you select Option 1, the message is suspended, and you receive the following error message:

The type initializer for 'Microsoft.BizTalk.AS2.Pipelines.BizTalkPropertyList' threw an exception.

Note It works correctly if you select Option 2. This only happens when you have schemas with the same msgtype deployed.
