Symptoms

When you use Microsoft Test Manager 2015 Update 3 to connect Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2017 for the first time, you may experience out of memory exceptions that prevent you using the product. This is because there is a cache (based on the existing data from the server) that's built on the computer. The issue does not occur if the cache is already present, or you do the connection after the first time.

Cause

This issue occurs because the data from the server is loaded into the process memory space of Microsoft Test Manager that runs out of virtual address space. This causes the observed exceptions.

Resolution

This hotfix makes sure that the Microsoft Test Manager process can use more virtual address space to resolve the issue.
