STHupo (华文琥珀 in Chinese) is a typeface designed for typesetting the Chinese language using the Simplified Chinese script. It is an extremely fat, almost bulbous design with thick, black, rounded strokes that are so heavy they often overlap. In many of the characters, there is a thin white line between overlapping strokes, to distinguish them. This typeface best used at very large size, in posters or advertising.
STHupo was designed by Changzhou SinoType Technology Co. It has only one weight, with no italic style. In addition to Simplified Chinese characters, the font includes Japanese kanji, hiragana, and katakana, along with a variety of symbols, as well as capitals and lowercase letters for the Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic alphabets, derived from the Bauhaus 93 typeface.
