Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2012 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2012 fix release.
Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You run Microsoft SQL Server 2012 in a virtual machine.
-
The state of the virtual machine is saved for more than three days.
-
You resume the state of the virtual machine.
In this scenario, SQL Server extended events are logged together with incorrect times in the past.
Cause
This issue occurs because of an overflow in XE Engine high-performance time-synchronization functions.
