Symptoms

Assume that you have a Master Data Services (MDS) subscription view that references some derived hierarchies that use explicit capitalization in Microsoft SQL Server 2012. Then, you apply one of the following packages on the SQL Server 2012 server:

  • SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 1 or a later version

  • Cumulative Update package 2 for SQL Server 2012 or a later version

In this situation, the MDS subscription view returns fewer records than were returned before you applied one of the packages.Note The issue also occurs in SQL Server 2014.

Cause

This issue occurs because of a regression that occurs after you apply update 2717239.

Each new cumulative update for SQL Server contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous cumulative update. Check out the latest cumulative updates for SQL Server:
