Microsoft distributes Microsoft SQL Server 2012 fixes as one downloadable file. Because the fixes are cumulative, each new release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included with the previous SQL Server 2012 fix release.

Symptoms

Assume that you set a Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or SQL Server 2014 database to read-only mode. When you then try to set it to single-user mode, you may receive the following error message:

Msg 3906, Level 16, State 1, Line 51 Failed to update database "SDP" because the database is read-only.Msg 5069, Level 16, State 1, Line 51 ALTER DATABASE statement failed.

Cumulative Update information

This issue was first fixed in the following cumulative update of SQL Server.
