Symptoms

Assume that you are using a Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Analysis Services (SSAS 2016) Tabular model with compatibility mode 1200 that contains a lot of measures. In this situation, you may find that the "sequence point algorithm" step of a transaction may take a long time to complete.

Resolution

A performance improvement for the "sequence point algorithm" step was introduced in the following cumulative update for SQL Server:

Cumulative Update 2 for SQL Server 2016 SP1
