Symptoms
If you turn on auditing by selecting Audit management operations in the BizTalk Server Administration console, any operations that involve auditing fail and return the following error message:
Error in the application. (Microsoft.BizTalk.ExplorerOM)
If you select the Show technical details button in the error dialog box, you see a call stack that resembles the following call stack:
at Microsoft.BizTalk.ExplorerOM.BtsCatalogExplorer.SaveChangesWithTransaction(Object transactionObj)
at Microsoft.BizTalk.SnapIn.Framework.ExplorerOMProvider.SaveChanges()
at Microsoft.BizTalk.SnapIn.Framework.ExplorerOMProvider.ChangesToExplorerOMSaved(UpdateExplorerOM method)
at Microsoft.BizTalk.Administration.SnapIn.Nodes.ExplorerOMResultNode`1.UpdateExplorerOM(UpdateExplorerOM method)
Status
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
Resolution
This problem is fixed in the following cumulative update for BizTalk Server:
