Symptoms
When you try to install one of the following Azure Stack updates, the Network Controller crashes and cannot be restarted:
When this problem occurs, network resources and functions in the Azure Stack deployment are unavailable, and new resources cannot be created.
Cause
The In-Memory Object Store (IMOS) database can grow larger than the memory that's available to load it. The Network Controller uses the IMOS to store its state. Therefore, when this problem occurs, the Network Controller is unable to start.
Resolution
To fix this problem, install the hotfix for the appropriate Azure Stack version:

Update for 1712AzS Hotfix 1.0.180106.2 (minimum required version: 1.0.180103.2)

Update for 1802:AzS Hotfix 1.0.180302.3 (minimum required version: 1.0.180302.1)

Update for 1803:AzS Hotfix 1.0.180413.1 (minimum required version: 1.0.180329.1)

Network Controller failure and data loss can occur if this hotfix is not installed. This hotfix is intended to be proactive and prevent this problem from occurring. It is not intended to remedy environments in which this problem has already occurred.

This hotfix is designed to update each supported Azure Stack version. It must be applied to each version. For example, if you install the 1802 hotfix (1.0.180302.3), and then you install stack version 1803 (20180329.1), you must also apply the 1803 hotfix (1.0.180413.1). This hotfix will be included in the 1804 release.
