Event Compose - Mark as Private

The event compose toolbar now has a [Mark as Private] command.

Search - Add More Options

You can now choose to “Add More Options” in the Search expanded form. Using this, you can narrow your search by using additional fields such as Cc, Bcc, Priority, Read Status, Category and Flag status

Create a Meeting from Email

For the times when you know a meeting would be better for that long email conversation you are on - well now you can do this easily!

Select the Create a Meeting command from the toolbar (or from the Top Menu, go to Message > Create) to quickly and easily create a meeting from an email.

Add-ins for Outlook are now available

• Install your favorite add-ins and enhance your productivity within Outlook.

• You can install add-ins by going to the Customize Toolbar section within Outlook.

• This feature is being rolled out gradually so if you don't see add-ins just yet, please check back in a couple of days.

Sensitivity labeling

• When composing an email, you will now be able to apply a sensitivity label and view the default label if configured by your administrator.

• You can add the Sensitivity button to the compose Toolbar via Customize Toolbar… or use Sensitivity in top Draft menu.

Message List Improvements

• Sender images in the message list are now available. Sender images can help improve scannability of incoming messages and help you quickly pick out email that is important to you.

• You will see sender images in the message list when the message list is set to the Comfortable setting.

Mail Tips for Automatic Replies

Outlook will now show a information bar indicating when someone on your recipient list has their automatic reply turned on.

Configure replies for senders within your organization and senders outside your organization, and choose a time period for the replies. Access settings via Tools > Automatic Replies. • Display Density: Display more messages in the message list and more events in My Day view using the Compact option in Reading preferences and top View menu. Insert Data From Picture - You can now insert data into Excel from your clipboard, your iPhone with Continuity Camera, or from a file on your computer.  Excel will convert the image to a table and insert it into your sheet.

• Printing options have been updated. A change has been made to the Print dialog to allow sheets with different orientation to be printed at one time. Previously, orientation and paper size settings for individual worksheets would be overridden by the settings in the Print dialog.  This meant that if you had 1 sheet to print in Portrait, and another in Landscape, you had to print them separately, or they would both print in the same orientation.  The settings were removed from the print dialog and now should be set on the Page Layout tab of the ribbon for each specific worksheet.

Bug fixes

• Text in images was becoming blurrier than expected when resizing the image.

• Emojis in some fonts were not appearing correctly.

• The filter dialog would sometimes be positioned at the top of the window and could be slightly covered by the Apple menu bar.

• When using ScreenUpdating=False in a macro, it sometimes behaved differently the first time a macro was run compared to subsequent runs.

• Excel could hang if it was launched by a macro in Word or PowerPoint.

• Holding the SHIFT key while opening a workbook did not prevent automatic macros from running.

We heard you! We are committed to increased transparency and customer control over data collected when you are using Office apps.

With this update, you are in full control of cloud-connected experiences and have access to settings that allow you to disable and re-enable the following types of connected experiences:

• Experiences that analyze your content, such as PowerPoint Designer or Editor in Word.

• Experiences that download online content, such as PowerPoint Quick Starter or Office templates.

• Other connected experiences, such as document collaboration.

To keep Office apps secure, up-to-date, and performant as well as to continually make product improvements, we collect diagnostic data.  There are two levels of diagnostic data: 

• Required data is the minimum data necessary to help keep Office secure, up to date, and performing as expected on the device it’s installed on, such as information about whether update packages were downloaded and installed correctly.

• Optional data is only collected with your consent and helps improve Office for you, such as information about whether files are saved locally or to the cloud to help us better understand customers’ storage preferences.

Use relative references in macros

We hear you! You can now create macros that use relative references. Actions in the macro will apply relative to the active cell rather than to a specific cell or range.

Getting Started

1. Go to the View or Developer tab on the ribbon.

2. Click the Macros drop down and click Use Relative References.

3. Record the macro.

New addition to the Home tab

Find & Select has been added to the Home tab on the ribbon. This makes it easier to select a variety of types of cells to help you work faster.
