After you install or uninstall update KB 975929 on a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, some text on the logon screen may not be displayed correctly. For example, part of the welcome message may be clipped.

The font that is used for text in the logon screen UI is the Meiryo UI font. KB 975929 updates the registry entries for Meiryo UI. This action causes the Microsoft Graphics Device Interface (GDI) to delay the loading of the font at the logon phase of Windows Vista and of Windows Server 2008.
