Consider the following scenario in Order Management in Microsoft Dynamics SL:
You open Order Types (40.200.00).
On the Send ASN step for the ASM order type, you set Status to Required, and then you select Invoke Automatically.
You open Sales Orders (40.100.00) and then set Order Type to ASM.
You enter details for the sales order. Then, you click Notes and then enter notes for the sales order.
You open Shippers (40.110.00) and then confirm shipment of the order.
You open the outgoing %.856 file that is created.
In this scenario, you notice that the LNOTES line is missing from the %.856 file. However, you expect an LNOTES line to exist in the file. This line should contain the line notes that you entered for this sales order.
