You may experience one or more of the following errors when you attempt to post in Microsoft Dynamics GP.

A get/change last operation on table ‘ivHITBDetailTemp’ cannot find the table.

A get/change first operation on table ‘ivHITBDetailTemp’ cannot find the table.

A save operation on table ‘ivHITBDetailTemp’ cannot find the table.

An edit operation on table 'ivHITBDetailTemp' cannot find the table.

A countrecords operation on table "[Not Found]" cannot find the table.

Note These error can occur posting any type of batch, not just one that relates to the Historical Inventory Trial Balance (HITB) report.

Symptoms

The ivHITBDetailTemp table is also known as the Inventory HITB Cache. It is a temporary table used by the Historical Inventory Trial Balance (HITB). When HITB is implemented, during the posting of documents that will affect inventory items, a hidden form which uses the ivHITBDetailTemp table is opened. This hidden form was not closed after posting.

Cause

This can be an intermittent error.  If the error occurs, exit Microsoft Dynamics GP, and then open Microsoft Dynamics GP again.

This was written up as Bug 58336.  Changes were made on Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 Service Pack 5 and Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Service Pack 1 to alleviate the errors in the Symptoms section by closing theivHITBDetailTemp table when posting is completed.

If this error is received during posting, data could be left in an incomplete state.  To resolve this problem, you should restore a backup made prior to posting to ensure data integrity.

Resolution

It is hard to know the extent of the data damage that can happen when this error occurs.  If the users are unable or unwilling to restore from a backup, then troubleshoot it as any other data fixing situation after a posting interruption.
