Note
These steps describe importing into Clipchamp for personal accounts. To use Clipchamp with a work or school account, see How to access Microsoft Clipchamp with your work or school account.
Use videos, images, and audio from Google Drive in Clipchamp by downloading them to your computer and then importing them.
Important
Direct Google Drive import has been removed from the current Clipchamp editor for personal accounts.
Instead, download your files from Google Drive, and then import them into Clipchamp. You don't need to connect your Google account to Clipchamp.
Step 1. Download files from Google Drive
- In Google Drive, select the video, image, or audio files you want to use.
- Open the shortcut menu for the selected files (for example, by right-clicking), and then select Download.
- Wait for the download to finish. If the download is a ZIP file, extract the media files before you continue.
If Download isn't available, the file owner or your organization might have restricted downloads. Ask the owner or your admin for help. For Google's current instructions and troubleshooting, see Download a file.
Step 2. Import the downloaded files into Clipchamp
- Open or create an editing project in Clipchamp.
- Select My media in the sidebar, and then select Import media.
- Select the downloaded or extracted media files, and then select Open. Wait for Clipchamp to import the files.
For more help importing files from your computer, see How to add videos to a video project.
On a Chromebook, look for your files in Downloads or the folder you chose for the download. For more information, see Using the Clipchamp video editor on a Chromebook.
