Note
- This article applies to Clipchamp for personal accounts. For work and school plans, see Clipchamp work and school plan options.
- The Microsoft account billing steps apply to subscriptions billed by Microsoft. If Apple, Google Play, or another provider bills your subscription, contact that provider for receipts, billing changes, or cancellation.
This guide covers buying a subscription and managing your billing. To decide which features you need, start with Clipchamp personal plan benefits.
Before buying, check whether your Microsoft 365 subscription already includes the Clipchamp features you need. If it does, sign in to Clipchamp with the Microsoft account that has those benefits rather than buying another subscription.
If you already have a standalone Clipchamp Premium subscription, you can manage it in Services & subscriptions. Starting a Microsoft 365 subscription doesn't automatically cancel it, so check both subscriptions to avoid paying for overlapping benefits.

How to get premium features
Choose a subscription that includes the Clipchamp features you need. If you prefer to stay on the free plan, remove or replace premium content in your project and choose an included export resolution.
Choose a plan
Open the Microsoft 365 plan comparison. In Clipchamp, you can also select Buy Microsoft 365 when that option is shown.
Compare the available plans, prices, and billing periods. Choose the plan you want, then follow its purchase option. If a trial is offered, review when it ends and what you'll be charged afterward.
Use the correct Microsoft account
Before completing the purchase, sign in with the personal Microsoft account you use for Clipchamp.
If you already have a Clipchamp account, use the Microsoft account connected to it. This might differ from the email address you originally used for Google or email sign-in. For the account-connection and recovery steps, see Access your existing Clipchamp account.
Add billing information, select a payment method
Follow the checkout prompts to enter your billing information and choose a payment method. The available payment methods depend on your region.
If the region or payment options don't match your situation, see How to handle a different purchasing region before proceeding.
Complete the checkout
Review the plan, price, billing period, and renewal terms before confirming the purchase.
After purchasing, return to Clipchamp with the same Microsoft account. If the premium features aren't available, follow the purchase troubleshooting steps.
What happens if I downgrade?
When your paid benefits end, you can continue using Clipchamp's free features. To export on the free plan, remove or replace premium content and choose an included export resolution. If another active subscription still provides premium Clipchamp benefits, you can continue using those benefits.
The date your paid benefits end depends on whether you stop renewal or choose a cancellation or refund option. Check the cancellation and recurring billing guidance before making a change.
Important
For projects stored in OneDrive, check your storage allowance before changing a Microsoft 365 subscription. Your allowance can decrease, including for people you share the plan with. If you exceed the remaining allowance, you might not be able to upload, edit, or sync files. Review the storage consequences of canceling Microsoft 365 before proceeding.
How to solve issues during the purchase
Before retrying a purchase, check Order history and Services & subscriptions to see whether it completed. Don't buy another subscription just to resolve an account or premium-feature access problem.
Open the purchase page in a browser
If the purchase page doesn't open from the Windows app, open the Microsoft 365 plan comparison directly in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Use the same personal Microsoft account that you use in Clipchamp.
Sign in with the account that has the subscription
Check that your subscription is active and that you're signed in to Clipchamp with the Microsoft account that has those benefits. If someone shared a qualifying Microsoft 365 subscription with you, use the account that received the shared benefits.
If you need to switch accounts, let project saving and media uploads finish before signing out of Clipchamp, then sign in with the correct account. If you previously used Google or email sign-in, follow the existing-account recovery guidance.
After you confirm the account and subscription, wait for saving and uploads to finish, and then refresh Clipchamp. If the features are still unavailable, contact Clipchamp support.
Troubleshoot purchasing through the Microsoft Store
Check that your payment details are up to date, then follow Troubleshoot buying issues with Microsoft Store.
For help with checkout, a charge, or payment options, contact Microsoft support.
How to handle a different purchasing region
Payment methods and subscription availability can vary by region. Microsoft recommends changing your account region only if you're moving to another region for a long time.
Before changing your region, read Microsoft Store region guidance. Existing subscriptions and your account balance can affect the change. If checkout reports a region mismatch, contact Microsoft support instead of choosing a different store region to work around the error.
How to obtain a receipt
For purchases billed by Microsoft:
- Open Order history and sign in with the Microsoft account you used for the purchase.
- Choose the date range you need and find the completed order.
- Select Order details, then Print to print the invoice.
For more information, see View your Microsoft Store order history. For a shared Microsoft 365 subscription, contact the subscription owner, who manages billing and receipts.
How to add, change, or remove billing information
Sign in with the Microsoft account used to buy the subscription.
- To add, edit, or remove a payment method, open Payment options. To update an existing card, select View or edit card, make your changes, and then select Save. For more information, see Update a Microsoft account payment method.
- To change the payment method for a subscription with recurring billing, open Services & subscriptions, select Manage for the subscription, and then select Change how you pay. If you want to use a new card for this subscription, make sure it's selected as the payment method. For more information, see Change your Microsoft subscription payment method and options.
- To change your account name or billing address, see How to change your Microsoft account name or address. This article also explains limitations for existing subscriptions and past purchases.
How to update the subscription period
- Open Services & subscriptions and sign in with the Microsoft account you used to buy the subscription.
- Find the subscription and select Manage.
- If Switch plan is available, select it and choose from the billing periods shown.
- Before you confirm, check the price and when the change takes effect.
Available options depend on your subscription and billing provider. For Microsoft's current steps, see How to change the recurring billing plan. If the option you need isn't offered, contact Microsoft support or the provider that bills your subscription.
How to cancel your subscription
To cancel, stop recurring billing, or check refund options, see How to cancel a Clipchamp paid subscription.
