Microsoft Clipchamp offers tools to help you create, edit, record, and manage videos. The version you use and its cost depend on your account and subscription.
1. Clipchamp for personal accounts
You can access the personal version of Clipchamp at app.clipchamp.com or in the Clipchamp app for Windows. Sign in with your personal Microsoft account.
For supported computers and browsers, and Windows app installation guidance, see Which devices does Clipchamp work on?.
You can combine and edit video clips, images, and music, add text, and export your finished video to your computer. You can also add visual effects, such as slowing down a video or adding a filter.
Does Clipchamp for personal accounts cost anything?
The personal version of Clipchamp includes a free plan. You can create videos with your own media files and the free stock media collection, and export finished videos at up to 1080p (full HD) resolution at no cost.
Qualifying Microsoft 365 subscriptions provide additional features. See Clipchamp personal plan benefits, then compare current Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, and Premium prices on Microsoft 365 plans and pricing.
Before you buy, check whether your subscription already includes the Clipchamp features you need.
For help buying a new subscription or managing an existing standalone Clipchamp Premium subscription, see How to purchase and manage a Clipchamp personal subscription.
2. Clipchamp for work or school accounts
Use the work or school account provided by your organization. Open Clipchamp through Microsoft 365 in a supported desktop browser, or sign in with that account in the Clipchamp Windows app.
Your account needs an assigned license that includes the video editor, and Clipchamp must be enabled for you. You can use this version alongside the other Microsoft 365 apps your organization provides.
For access requirements and other ways to open the editor, see How to access Microsoft Clipchamp with your work or school account.
Note
Clipchamp in Microsoft 365 also includes a video player, camera, and home page, formerly part of Microsoft Stream. Access to these capabilities doesn't necessarily include access to the video editor. Learn more about Clipchamp video capabilities in Microsoft 365.
Does Clipchamp for work or school accounts cost anything?
Clipchamp Standard is included with selected Microsoft 365 and Office 365 business subscriptions and Microsoft 365 education subscriptions. If your organization has assigned you an eligible license, you don't need a separate Clipchamp subscription to use Standard. Clipchamp is enabled by default for eligible users, but your admin can control access.
For the full plan list, Original and Extra Features requirements, and education and government availability, see Clipchamp license eligibility.
Clipchamp work or school subscription plans
If your organization needs standalone Clipchamp access or additional features, see Clipchamp work and school plan options. That guide explains Standard, Premium, and benefits from eligible Microsoft 365 Copilot subscriptions.
For current Microsoft 365 business prices, open Clipchamp plans and pricing and select For business under Choose your plan. Ask your admin about standalone Clipchamp and add-on pricing and availability for your organization.

The same feature can be included in one version and require a paid plan in another. For the differences and links to current feature lists, see the Clipchamp plan feature comparison.
