Some extensions require permissions to read and change site data as you browse the web. You can change site access permissions for your extensions on the new Microsoft Edge  any time.

To change the site access permissions for an extension

  1. At the top right, choose the Extensions Hub to see the list of extensions installed on Microsoft Edge.

  2. For the extension you want to change site access permissions, select ... More menu and point to This can read and change site data.

  3. Choose the required access permission for the selected extension:

    • When you click the extension: This setting only allows the extension to access the current site in the open tab or window when you click the extension. If you close the tab or window, you’ll have to click the extension to turn it on again.

    • On [current site]: Allow the extension to automatically read and change data on the current site.

    • On all sites: Allow the extension to automatically read and change data on all sites.

Add or remove access to a specific site

  1. At the top right, click on the Extensions Hub and from the list of options, choose Manage Extensions.

  2. Select Details shown below the extension.

  3. Under Permissions, in the Site access section, add or remove a site:

    • Add: To the right of Allowed sites, click Add.

    • If you don’t see this option, change Allow this extension to read and change all your data on websites that you visit to On specific sites.

    • Remove: To the right of the site, select the ... More menu and select Remove.
