How do I install the OneDrive versions?
32-bit version
The 32-bit version of OneDrive is automatically installed on all Windows 10 devices.
If you have a Mac, OneDrive is available in the 64-bit version and ARM64 version.
64-bit version
The 64-bit version of OneDrive is automatically installed with later versions of Windows.
Note: If you're using PerMachine, you'll need to run OneDriveSetup.exe /allusers.
ARM64 version for Windows
You need to be in the Office Insider program or Windows Insider program to use the ARM64 version of OneDrive.

Join the Office Insider program or the Windows Insider program.

Select the cloud icon on the taskbar. A blue cloud icon will open OneDrive for work or school, and a white cloud icon will open OneDrive for home.

Select Help & Settings.

Select Settings > About.

Under About Microsoft OneDrive, select the checkbox to join the OneDrive Insiders preview.

Under Pre-release builds, select Get ARM64 build.
Apple silicon preview version for Mac
You need to be on the OneDrive Standalone version (which you can find on the OneDrive release notes) in order to use the Apple silicon preview version of OneDrive.

Select the cloud icon on the taskbar. A blue cloud icon will open OneDrive for work or school, and a white cloud icon will open OneDrive for home.

Select Help & Settings > Preferences.

Select About.

Under About Microsoft OneDrive, select the checkbox to join the OneDrive Insiders preview. It can take up to 24 hours for your account to be moved to Insiders. To update more quickly, restart OneDrive manually.

To restart OneDrive manually, select the cloud icon on the taskbar, then select Help & Settings > Quit OneDrive. Then start OneDrive again.

Under About Microsoft OneDrive, next to your build number there should also be "Standalone" (see the screenshot below). If you aren't on the "Standalone" version, you can find it on the OneDrive release notes.
Important: You must be on the Standalone version of OneDrive for Mac to use the Apple silicon preview.

Under Pre-release builds, select Get Apple silicon build. This might take a few minutes to update.
Changing versions
To change from 32-bit to 64-bit or vice versa, use the links above. You'll need to make sure the version you install is the same version as you currently have, or newer. Check out Which version of OneDrive am I using? for more information.
Your device will be automatically updated to 64-bit if it meets the requirements.
If you're using the ARM64 or Apple silicon version of OneDrive and want to switch, follow the steps above and in the About tab, under Pre-release builds, select the button Go back to a previous build.
Reasons to choose the 64-bit version
The 64-bit version is the right choice if you plan to use large files, if you have a lot of files, and if you have a computer that's running a 64-bit version of Windows.
Computers running 64-bit versions of Windows generally have more resources—such as processing power and memory—than their 32-bit predecessors. Also, 64-bit applications can access more memory than 32-bit applications.

The following computer systems can only install 32-bit OneDrive (check your Windows version).

Reasons to choose the ARM64 version (Windows and Apple silicon Mac)
If you’re using an ARM64-based device, the ARM64 version of OneDrive will be the best experience since the process will not be emulated. Only ARM64-based devices can run the ARM64 version of OneDrive.
Note: ARM64-based devices can not run the 64-bit version of OneDrive. 32-bit is currently the only non-preview version of OneDrive for ARM64-based devices.

Can I use the 64-bit OneDrive on ARM64 devices?
No. In newer versions of Windows, OneDrive comes pre-installed in 64-bit for 64-bit OS and ARM64 for ARM64 OS.
