This page contains common playback errors you may encounter while playing back media, as well as steps you can take to potentially resolve or work around each error.

“This video is temporarily unavailable”

This error occurs when a when a video is being accessed by too many people within a short amount of time and the service is temporarily overloaded. This usually happens when a Stream (on SharePoint) video is made externally available. Try reaching out to the owner of the video and ask them to change permissions to internal users only. Coming back in an hour or so will generally fix this error as well. If you think you’re getting this error by mistake, please talk to your IT Administrator so they can create a support ticket with Microsoft.

“Some features are limited because you don’t have full access”

This happens if you haven't been added to the correct group within your organization or if you received or shared this link outside of the organization that owns it.

Video owners set permissions that determine who can view or edit a video and what groups or channels a video is displayed in. An owner can grant permissions to their entire organization, to a group within an organization, or to individuals.

Permissions can impact the availability of some features, such as download or transcripts. If features are not loading, you may not have permissions.
