This article will attempt to answer the commonly asked questions about the Copilot for Microsoft 365 private preview program for businesses.

What is Copilot for Microsoft 365?

Copilot for Microsoft 365 works alongside you in the apps you use every day, combining the power of large language models with your business data and context, to unlock creativity, unleash productivity, and uplevel skills, all built on Microsoft’s comprehensive approach to security, compliance, privacy, and responsible AI.

The Copilot for Microsoft 365 Early Access Program is a product preview program and gives preselected Microsoft 365 subscribers access to try early versions of Copilot in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and more.  

Yes. There is no cost to participate in this product preview program.

The program is invite-only. We’ve already preselected participants from our existing community of Microsoft 365 subscribers. If you’re invited, you’ll receive a notification through email or within one of the Microsoft 365 apps. Click on the link provided and sign-in using the account associated with your current Microsoft 365 subscription. Review the program terms and make your decision to join. It may take up to 10 business days for you to receive a notification that you’re set up to start using Copilot.

Yes, you are encouraged to share broadly across your organization - from sales, marketing, finance, and IT - to maximize your experience.

We launched the Early Access Program to improve Copilot, so we encourage you to provide feedback. You’ll periodically receive requests for feedback either in-app or through email.

This is a preview program. Features and experiences may vary over time. Access to Copilot may also be limited at times to ensure optimal performance and equitable use.

One year from the purchase date.

When the licenses expire, the assigned users will lose access to Copilot.  You can purchase new licenses and assign them to your users through the normal process

Yes, you can purchase more licenses in addition to the Copilot Early Access Program.  They'll show up as a separate subscription for billing, but the licensing and functionality will be the same.
