The Microsoft Adaptive Mouse lets you adjust how far the mouse cursor moves when you move your mouse. When you adjust this setting, you’re adjusting the DPI (dots per inch) of your mouse. The higher the DPI is, the faster your cursor moves across the screen.  

Before you begin, you need to install the Microsoft Accessory Center.

How to adjust the DPI 

Here’s how to adjust the DPI for your Adaptive Mouse:  

  1. Make sure your Adaptive Mouse is turned on and connected to your PC.

  2. Select Start and open the Microsoft Accessory Center.

  3. Select your Microsoft Adaptive Mouse from the list of accessories.

  4. Adjust the Cursor Speed (DPI) to your preferences.

    1. To set different speeds for horizontal and vertical directions, select Switch to different speeds.
