The Microsoft Adaptive Mouse is an adaptive accessory that makes using a mouse more comfortable for you.

Meet your Adaptive Mouse

Pair your Adaptive Mouse to your PC

Once you’ve removed your Adaptive Mouse from its box, here’s how to connect it to your PC:

  1. Press the power button on your Adaptive Mouse.

  2. On your PC, a notification will appear. It will ask you to connect the mouse to your PC with Bluetooth. Select Connect.

    Note: If you don’t see the notification, select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add a device > Bluetooth. Select Microsoft Adaptive Mouse from the list.

How to connect your Adaptive Mouse to another PC

If you want to pair your Adaptive Mouse to another PC, here’s how:

  1. Press the Bluetooth button on your Adaptive Mouse to switch to another paired device slot. Make sure the light by your Bluetooth button changes to another number.

  2. If this is your first time pairing to another PC, the pairing light will start flashing. Otherwise, press and hold the Bluetooth button until the light starts flashing.

  3. On the PC you want to pair, wait for a notification to appear. The notification will ask if you want to connect your Adaptive Mouse to it.

  4. Select Connect to pair your mouse.

    Note: If you don’t see the notification, select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add a device > Bluetooth. Select Microsoft Adaptive Mouse from the list.

To make the Adaptive Mouse fit your needs, you can add the Adaptive Mouse tail (sold separately).

Attaching and removing the Adaptive Mouse Tail

Here's how to attach the mouse tail: 

  1. Flip the mouse over so that the bottom is facing up.

  2. Press and hold the Eject button to loosen the mouse tail cover, then pull it away from the mouse.

  3. Slide the mouse tail into the same location as the battery cover.

Follow these instructions again to remove the mouse tail.

Included with the Adaptive Mouse Tail is the Adaptive Mouse Thumb Support.

Here’s how to attach the thumb support:

  1. Make sure the thumb support is on the side of the mouse where you want your thumb to rest.

  2. Align the two location markers on the thumb support with the slots on your mouse.

  3. Press the thumb support into place to secure it to your mouse.

Here’s how to remove the thumb support:

  1. Firmly hold the mouse in one hand with the thumb support pointed away from you.

  2. Push the side facing you away from the mouse—the location marker should be lifted away from the slot on the mouse.

  3. Pull the side with the thumb support away from the mouse.
