Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You open a document, and then you open the custom advanced print settings flyout of a Windows Store device app for printers.

  • You type double-byte character set (DBCS) characters in the print settings flyout. The DBCS characters will be printed together with the document.

  • You print the document.

In this scenario, the double-byte characters are not printed correctly. Or, the document cannot be printed, and you receive an error message that resembles the following:

Something went wrong and this app can't set print settings. Go back to continue printing.

Resolution
