Symptoms
Assume that you're running a version of Microsoft Lync 2013 (Microsoft Skype for Business) that has a simplified Chinese or Japanese language pack installed. In this situation, you synchronize your contact information to Microsoft Outlook. However, when you check the imported contacts under Skype for Business Contacts on the Contacts tab in Outlook, you notice that there's garbled content in the Contact notes.
Resolution
To fix this issue, install the October 13, 2015, update (KB3085581) for Lync 2013 (Skype for Business).
Note Lync 2013 was upgraded to Skype for Business in April 2015.
