Your prompts, including any work content you add to the prompt, and Copilot’s responses aren't used to train foundation models.

Your prompts, Bing search queries triggered by your prompts, and responses in Copilot Chat are logged. Your IT admin can use search and audit tools from Microsoft to view this logged information.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat helps to safeguard you against harmful content, such as violence, graphic content, or hateful speech.

Bing search queries triggered by your prompts in Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat consist of a few words informed by your prompt. These queries aren’t linked to your account or your organization.Â

The Bing search service operates separately from Microsoft 365 and has different data-handling practices from those used for prompts and responses. These data-handling practices are covered by the Microsoft Services Agreement between each user and Microsoft, together with the Microsoft Privacy Statement. This means that Microsoft acts as an independent data controller responsible for complying with all applicable laws and controller obligations. This approach is consistent with other optional connected experiences that rely on Bing.
