The SNA Manager MMC snap-in may exit unexpectedly when you try to assign a link service (for example, SNAIP1) to a connection through the Connection Properties dialog box. This problem occurs in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2009.

When the SNA Manager MMC snap-in tries to access a handle that was not initialized correctly, an access violation causes the snap-in to close.
