Symptoms
Consider the following scenario:
-
You use the BizTalk Adapter for WebSphere MQ (MQSC Adapter) to receive messages from IBM WebSphere MQ.
-
The incoming IBM WebSphere MQ messages are formatted by using MQRFH2 headers.
-
The Integer Format (Int Fmt) in the MQ Message Descriptor (MQMD) for the incoming message is set to UNIX or Host.
In this scenario, the MQSC Adapter may pass the message as a zero-byte stream to the BizTalk Server Pipeline component.
Cause
This problem occurs because, when the Integer Format in the MQMD is set to UNIX or Host, the integer values in the MQRFH2 header are encoded by using big-endian formatting. The other values in MQMD are encoded by using little-endian formatting.
Resolution
Cumulative update information
Host Integration Server 2013
The fix that resolves this problem is included inĀ Cumulative Update 2 for Host Integration Server 2013.
Host Integration Server 2010
The fix that resolves this problem is included in Cumulative Update 10 for Host Integration Server 2010.
Status
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
More Information
After you apply this update, the MQSC adapter uses little-endian formatting for the integer values in the MQRFH2 header.
