INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:

    • You create an Active Directory (AD) security group, and you add some users into this group.

    • You add this AD security group to a SharePoint group in a SharePoint 2013 team site, and the SharePoint group has a "Contribute" or higher permission level.

    • You create a SharePoint 2013 workflow by using SharePoint Designer 2013.

    • You select the Start a task process action on the Actions drop-down menu in SharePoint Designer 2013.

    • In the Start a Task Process dialog box, you add the AD security group to the Participants field, and you select Assign a task to each member within groups in the Task Options section.

    • You publish the workflow to a SharePoint list.

In this scenario, when you add an item to the list to start the workflow, the task is assigned to the AD security group instead of the users in the group.
