This article describes the issues that are fixed in the Microsoft Excel 2010 hotfix package that is dated August 12, 2014.

INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you select a chart sheet in Excel 2010. When you type any character in the formula bar, Excel may crash.

  • Assume that the Content Organizer feature is enabled on a SharePoint site. You may fail to save a file to the SharePoint site in Excel 2010 if the URL of the document path is longer than 128 characters.

  • When you use Excel 2010 to open a password protected workbook that contains a sorted range, the sort arrow is missing. Meanwhile, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

    File error: data may have been lost.

  • When you activate a workbook while another workbook is being saved, Excel 2010 may crash.
