Symptoms
Assume that you have configured a transactional replication together with the distributor by using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or Microsoft SQL Server 2008. If the subscription is on an Oracle instance, your Distribution Agent fails, and you receive the following error message:
Agent message code 1722. ORA-01722: invalid number
ErrorId = 7563200, SourceTypeId = 16
ErrorCode = '1722'
ErrorText = 'ORA-01722: invalid number'
Resolution
To resolve this problem, install the hotfix package for your version of SQL Server. To do this, see the appropriate corresponding article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
