Symptoms
The Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access service (Microsoft.Exchange.RpcClientAccess.Service.exe) crashes on a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 Client Access server together with a System.InvalidOperationException exception. Additionally, the following event is logged in the Application log:
Cause
This issue occurs because a race condition occurs when the RPC Client Access service changes performance counters.
Resolution
To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:
2917508 Description of Update Rollup 5 for Exchange Server 2010 Service Pack 3
