Cause

This is a known issue with the Visio 2010 setup.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Start Registry Editor, and then locate the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Office14.VISIO

    Note For Visio 2010 32-bit on a 64-bit operating system, locate the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Office14.VISIO

  2. Remove all values except theĀ Display Name value, and then export the key as a .reg file (default):

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Office14.VISIO]
    "DisplayName"="Microsoft Visio Premium 2010"

  3. Change the Display Name value from Microsoft Visio Premium 2010 to Microsoft Visio Professional 2010.

    Note If you are deploying Visio to multiple computers, you can follow these steps to apply this solution to multiple computers.

  4. Save the Visio 2010 Uninstall.reg file.

  5. Deploy the updated registry information by using one of the following methods:

    • Configure a script to run Regedit /s Visio2010.reg.

    • Import the .reg file to the Office Customization Toolkit under the Additional content>Add registry entries section, and then deploy the .msp file.
