Note:Â This feature requires a Microsoft 365 Copilot license.
Brand kits without guidelines are just a collection of brand assets. Guidelines help define and govern usage of these brand assets to create on-brand artifacts that represent your organization well.
With the guidelines feature, you can:Â
-
Make brand images, stories, and posters, look more personalized to your brand and improve brand adherence by following the styles defined in the guidelines.
-
Make proper use of your brand assets such as logos, fonts, and icons.
-
Use these guidelines for reviewing your presentations for brand adherence.
Add guidelines to your brand kitsÂ
Brand kit creation in Microsoft 365 Copilot is now even simpler with the new guidelines capability. The guidelines are used to automatically extract your brand information including color palettes, styles, brand voice, and rules related to all assets such logos, typography, colors, and more.
-
In your browser, sign in at microsoft365.com and select Create from the left navigation menu.
-
Select More and choose Brand kits.
-
Create a new brand kit by selecting +New brand kit or open an existing brand kit.
-
Select Add brand guidelines to upload your brand guidelines in pdf format.
-
Copilot will automatically process your guidelines to extract brand assets and brand rules.
Note: If your kit already has color palettes, brand voice, or any of the above attributes, the uploaded guidelines will override the existing values.Â
-
You can add your logo files, custom font files, templates, and images to your brand kit while the extraction is in progress.
-
Once the processing is complete, the following information (if available in your uploaded brand guidelines) will be extracted:
-
Color palettes & guidelines
-
Brand styles & guidelines
-
Brand voice
-
Logo guidelines
-
Typography guidelines
-
-
Review the extracted information and choose Save assets if everything is correct.
Note: If you don't save, you'll see the guidelines but they won't be available to others (official kits) or be used in artifact creation.Â
-
Once saved, you can edit the guidelines or any other information extracted. To edit guidelines, select the Edit button on each guideline section, make the changes, and save.
-
If you need to change your brand guidelines, you can edit individual sections or replace your guidelines with a new document.
