Clipchamp video editor saves your progress every 5 seconds while you are editing but requires a working internet connection to do this.
If you don't have a working internet connection, it will back up to your local cache until a connection is available again. However, this data can be lost if the cache is overwritten or emptied.
If you see an old version of your project when you reopen it, it might be because a loss of network connection prevented Clipchamp from saving your changes. If this is the case, it will not be possible to retrieve your changes.
We recommend you check your network connection is active before closing a Clipchamp video you are working on to avoid this problem in the future.
If you are not experiencing any network connection problems, but are still losing progress, there may be a glitch in the backup system. Please contact our support team (using the chat icon) and we can investigate for you.
Note: Only your editing data gets backed up online and not your video files as they stay on your computer.
