The Windows 365 app unlocks new experiences in Windows—access your local and Cloud PCs from your taskbar or Start menu. 

Tip: Install regular and automatic app updates to make sure you’re always using the most up-to-date version of Windows 365.  

Note: We recommend uninstalling the Remote Desktop app before installing the Windows 365 app.

  1. Open the Microsoft Store app.

  2. Search for "Windows 365."

  3. Select Get to install the app.

  4. When the download is complete, select Open to launch the app.

  1. Go to windows365.microsoft.com to open the Windows 365 web portal.

  2. Under Downloads, select Go to Microsoft Store.

  3. Select Get to install the app.

  4. When the download is complete, select Open to launch the app.

Hardware requirements

  • Operating systems: Windows 10/11

  • CPU: 2vCPU with 1 GHz or faster processor

  • RAM: 4096 MB

  • Hard drive: 200 MB or more

  • .NET Framework version: 4.6.1 or later

  • Video: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver

If you're using Microsoft Teams and/or Multi-Media redirection on the Cloud PCs, the hardware requirements are:

  • Operating systems: Windows 10/11

  • CPU: At least 2vCPU with minimum 1.6 GHz or faster processor. For higher video/screen share resolution and frame rate, a four-core processor or better is recommended

  • RAM: 4096 MB

  • Hard drive: 3 GB or more

  • .NET Framework version: 4.6.1 or later

  • Video: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver. Background video effects require Windows 10/11 or a processor with AVX2 instruction set. Also, Teams audio and video offloading on a Cloud PC benefits from a dedicated Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) within the device.

Pin a Cloud PC to the taskbar

Note: This feature is only available at this time for devices running Windows 11.

You can pin any of your Cloud PCs to the Windows taskbar so you can access them directly, without having to open the Windows 365 app first. Here's how:

  1. Launch the Windows 365 app. Select Start > All apps > Windows 365, or select Search , enter windows 365, and select the Windows 365 app from the list of results.

  2. Locate the Cloud PC you wish you pin, and then select Manage this Cloud PC > Pin to Taskbar .

Note: If your Cloud PC is already pinned and you want to remove it, you can select Unpin from taskbar .
