Add and use a Stream tab in Teams

The Stream tab lets you share videos from Microsoft Stream or Office 365 Video directly in a tab.

To add a Stream tab, click Add a tab Add button next to your existing tabs in a channel and select Stream.

Add a name to the Tab name field and add a link to one of the following:

  • A Microsoft Stream video.

  • A Microsoft Stream channel.

  • A video on Office 365 Video.

Note: Everyone on the team who has access to the Stream video will be able to watch it in the new tab.

What is Microsoft Stream?

Microsoft Stream is a video service for businesses that is highly secure and free of ads and sponsored content. All your videos in Stream are encrypted, so you don't have to worry about sharing privileged information outside your company, but you can share them with anyone in your organization.

Go to the Stream website to:

  • Set up a Stream account.

  • Upload videos to share.

Note: Stream is currently unavailable for work email addresses that end in .gov or .mil.

If the Stream tab has been set up in a channel in the desktop or web app, you can view Stream videos on your iOS and Android device.
