Important: These steps are for Teams for personal and small business use only. They will not work if you are using Teams with your work or school account.
In Teams for personal and small business use, you have the option to block a contact, if necessary.
To block a contact in a chat:

From the Chat tab, tap and hold on the person you want to block.

Tap Block.
Note: If you block someone in one of your group chats, their messages will still be visible in that group. You will need to remove the participant from that group to stop receiving their messages.
To block someone in the Communities preview in Teams:

From the Communities tab in the Teams app, tap the community you want to block a member in.

Tap the community name at the top of the screen.

In the Members section, tap either Manage, if you are an owner, or See all, if you are a member.

Tap the person you want to block, then tap Block contact.
Note: If you block someone in one of your communities, their messages will still be visible in that community. A community owner will need to remove the participant from that community to stop receiving their messages.
To unblock a contact in Teams:

Tap your profile picture or More
.

Tap Settings

Tap People
, then tap Blocked contacts.

Find the contact you want, then tap Unblock contact.
To block a contact in a chat:

From the Chat tab, swipe left on the person you want to block.

Tap More
.

Tap Block.
Note: If you block someone in one of your group chats, their messages will still be visible in that group. You will need to remove the participant from that group to stop receiving their messages.
To block someone in the Communities preview in Teams:

From the Communities tab in the Teams app, tap the community you want to block a member in.

Tap the community name at the top of the screen.

In the People section, tap either Manage members, if you are an owner, or See all, if you are a member.

Tap the person you want to block.

Tap View profile, then tap Block contact.

Select Privacy, then select Edit blocked contacts.

Find the contact you want, then select Unblock.
To unblock a contact in Teams for Windows 11:

Open Microsoft Teams.

Select Settings and more
near your profile picture.

Find the contact you want, then select Unblock.
To block a contact:
