In Microsoft Teams (free), it’s easy to start a group chat with your contacts on Teams personal.
After you create your group chat, learn more about the different features to get the most out of your chat.

Tap New Chat near the bottom of the screen.

In the search field, enter the name, phone number, or email of those you want to include in the group. You can also choose from the list of Suggestions, then tap Next.
Note: If someone isn’t already on Microsoft Teams (free), they'll either receive an invite to join Teams or they may participate as an SMS participant in the group. Learn more about chatting via SMS.

Type a message and Send it to finish creating your new group.
Tip: You can go to any one-on-one chat, tap More options and tap Create a new group chat. Add in participants you want to invite using their name, phone number, or email in the To: line and Send a message to create the group.

Open Microsoft Teams (free).

Select the New Chat button.

Select Add group name and enter a name for your group chat.
Note: Chat names cannot contain links, profanities, or restricted terms to protect users from scams, phishing, and malware.

In the To: line, type the phone numbers, email addresses or names of those you want to include in this group.
Note: If you are starting a group with a new contact, they'll need to accept your group invitation. Learn more about joining a chat in Microsoft Teams (free).

Type a message and send it to finish creating your new group.
Note: You can also go to any one-on-one chat, click Add People and add people to the chat to create a group chat.

View the participant list and add people to the group. You can also remove people from the group using this feature, hovering over the name of the person you want to remove, and selecting the X next to the name. |

When you tap People, you can Add or view a list of partipants by tapping See All. |
Leave |
To leave a group chat, hover over the chat in the chat list and select More options , then select Leave |
