Note: This feature is only available for Microsoft Teams Free on desktop.

You can manage your device settings in Microsoft Teams Free, so your calls are always using the right microphone or camera.

In a meeting

  1. During a Teams call or meeting, select Settings and more More options button.

  2. There you'll see:

    • Meeting info Teams Community event Meeting info- shows the name of a meeting and meeting info, including a join link

    • Video effects and settings Pre-meeting Effects and avatars icon​​​​​​​ – Under the Settings tab, you can choose your video devices, adjust brightness, mirror your video, and add soft focus. Under the Video effects tab you can select a background that you preview and apply.  

    • Audio settings Teams Audio settings in Mac – pick your primary audio device, add noise suppression, and select high-fidelity music mode. 

    • Language and speech Language settings in Microsoft Teams- Turn on accessibility features, such as live captions and RTT (Real-Time Text).

Outside a meeting 

  1. Sign in to Teams on your desktop.​​​​​​​ Go to​​​​​​​ More options button next to your profile picture.

  2. Select Settings Settings button and then select Devices Devices button.

  3. From Devices Devices button, you can change:

  • Audio Settings​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

    • Choose your primary audio device, Speaker, and Microphone from their dropdown menus

    • Automatically adjust mic sensitivity

    • Sync device buttons- allows you to use all the buttons on your device

    • High fidelity music mode- transmits high-quality music to an online audience

  • Video settings 

    • Camera – video devices will be listed in the dropdown menu

    • Automatically adjust camera controls- You can adjust your camera controls manually, or turn on this setting adjust them for you.

    • Mirror my video- Changing this setting will only change the view for you. This setting doesn’t currently work in Together mode.

    • Adjust brightness- changes the brightness of your camera and enhances quality in low light situations. 

    • Soft focus- smoothens your appearance for a polished look
