Quiet time is a scheduled setting that silences Teams notifications on your mobile device(s) during certain times or days. Set a quiet time schedule to stay focused while you work or unplug while you’re away.

Note: This feature is only available to Enterprise licenses.

Set up quiet time in Teams

  1. Open the Teams app on your mobile device and tap your profile picture in the top left corner.

  2. Select Notifications, and under Block notifications select During quiet time.

  3. Set specific times and days to mute notifications on that device.

    1. To mute notifications during certain hours, turn on the Certain hours toggle and select which hours of the day you want notifications muted.

    2. To mute notifications during select days, turn on the All Day toggle and select which days of the week you want notifications muted.

  4. To sync your quiet time schedule across all your mobile devices, switch on the Set on Teams and Outlook toggle. Schedules will sync across all Teams and Outlook mobile apps that are signed into the same Microsoft account.

This setting will also send your quiet time schedule to Viva Insights where you can view your schedule and read weekly and monthly summaries of your quiet time.

Important: All quiet time schedules will automatically sync with the device you enable this setting on. This action can't be reversed.

Will others know when my device is in quiet time?

Other people won't know if your notifications are muted. To let others know you're unavailable or when you'll return, set a status message in Teams

Can I see notifications during quiet time?

During quiet time, you won't receive sound or push notifications from Teams. However, when you open the Teams app on your device, you'll still be able to view new message or activity notifications.

What if I travel to a different time zone?

Quiet hours are based on the device time. If you travel and the device time changes (usually automatically), Teams adjusts its notifications to the defined hours in the local time zone.
